Two images side by side: one is of a bright green yard, formerly a pool. The other is of a pool with a tarp over it. A sticker over the image says "closing your pool: temporary or permanent".

Have a pool that's old, severely damaged, or falling apart? Or maybe you just want to know when the best time is to close it for the winter? This and more in our quick and easy monthly article!

Fall is finally approaching! You may have already seen our limited time pool closing special— only $199 with an included complementary leak detection— but when should you actually close?

Our experts recommend closing your pool once the weather gets a bit colder. To avoid any potential algae or other bacterial buildup, you'll want the water to be around 65º or cooler. Prior to your closing time, you'll also want your pool to be cleaned and clear of debris with your water chemicals balanced for at least a full week prior to your closing date. Unfortunately our technicians do not specialize in chemical balancing and cleaning, but give our office a call if you need recommendations for excellent local pool cleaners who can help you with this step! During your scheduled closing with us, we'll clear out all the water from the lines to prevent freezing and cap them— including return lines, skimmer lines, and the equipment.

Want to take advantage of our fantastic $199 deal but the weather is still too warm? Give us a call! We can get your complementary leak detection and free remodeling walkthrough knocked out quick, while scheduling your pool closing itself for a more appropriate date that fits the criteria.

Maybe you're feeling more of a permanent conclusion to your pool season? There's no shame in exchanging your old, damaged pool for a beautiful patch of yard! Sometimes, a pool just doesn't fit your lifestyle, whether it be for personal choice or budgeting concerns. Take a look at our replumbing options here to see how your pool may still be saved. Or, check out the images below of a client's pool before, during, and one year after removal!
